Its official I have been thrown into the world of adults EKKKKKK. On Sunday I moved into my new apartment in Nairobi where I will be living with another girl from the program for the next month. Everyday I will report to my 9-5 internship. Oh and I will be cooking all my own meals (the first night was rough because we couldn't figure out how to turn on the oven). But hey if I can figure out how to live on my own in a foreign country then living on my own in the U.S. will be a piece of cake.
All I can say is thank god for my host sisters! Last night after my first day of work, 3 of my rural host sisters who live in the area as well as a SLU alumni who also went on the program met me for dinner. The cool thing is the SLU alumni was my host families first host student and I was their last, with 6 years between our two stays. We spent 3 hours talking and at the end of the night each only spent $4 on our meals. Yes, the food was good and shout out too having host sister who know their way around town! I am so grateful to my host sisters who have truly taken me in and continue to look after me even though its been 3 months since I was at their house. It has made being away from home for so long easy because I truly feel as though I have a family right here. Plus its super fun to finally have sisters. I hope one day that my real family can meet my Kenyan family!

So glad you have family over there!
